Life is too short!

Life is too short to sit & regret;
But it is long enough to correct your mistakes.

Life is too short to take a revenge;
but it is long enough to forget the avenge.

Life is too short to fight;
But it is long enough to forgive with all your might.

Life is too short to hate anyone;
But it is long enough to love everyone.

Life is too short to bitch;
But it is long enough to get out of that ditch.

Life is too short for tears;
But it is long enough to overcome all your fears.

Life is too short to sit & cry;
But it is long enough to give it another try.

&

Life is too short to treat life like a toy;
But it is long enough to experience the ultimate joy.

that's why the title

...but He didn't call out my name. The girl next to me was smirking, the guy next to me almost gave me a 'I'm the winner not you' kind of look and the scenario was technically perfect for me to burst out in tears. But, I have no clue what was up with me on that day, I suprisingly stayed very calm and steady. My school incharge, who had arrived by now,  sent two guys running to ask me what was wrong. I asked them to go and talk to the anchor while their faces yelled, "what the hell? Do you even care?" And well, just then the judge who had also judged me the previous day said, "Excuse me Sir, We still have a contestant left... Surjana, sorry Surujani." . I smiled at her and she smiled back, in the first grade itself I had very well accepted the fact that my name was too rare to be pronounced respectably .Anyways, .I walked up on the stage and gave a broad smile to 'that' girl, 'that' guy and began...

             Every step takes you somewhere
             Every word gets some reply
             Every action has some reaction
                                  &
             Every wish comes true at some point of time....

...a poem here... a quote over there... an anecdote somewhere, so on and so forth I went ahead with 'I want it all'.  With a round of applause I stepped down and gracefully took my seat. Quite unusually the results were out in less than 15 minutes; maybe because the judges were in a hurry to rush to another event or maybe the organizers had served them with a hot mug of Horlicks which could possibly have charged them up. Then all the contestants were called up on the stage and asked to stand in a semi circle. The anchor went on for more than ten minutes calling out the names of all the sponsors one after the other; he started off with Horlicks,then came radio mirchi, intel, baskin robin, Reebok etc., I guess the only thing he missed was Lijat Papad otherwise he did manage to cover all possible brands. Anyways, the results were announced and, Yes I did manage to win the SPY finally. I really don't think that I can go into the details of the feelings I went through at that moment of achievement. Because my stomach, deprived of morning breakfast forced my head and my heart to expect a mug of horlicks instead of a trophy( which I did receive at the end of the day) and didnt let them feel the pride. It was really expecting someone to walk out from the curtains  and warm it with a hot mug of yummy horlicks. Instead someone did come but with a small bottle of horlicks and my happy head was glad to receive a month's supply of Horlicks ( for free :D) But, this grumbling stomach snobbishly decided to think of the food counters outside and hoped to get filled with one of the yummies...

what's up with the title

I would like to start by telling you why have I named this blog as 'She wants it all' It all started in my 11th grade. I was new in the school & since I had shown my colours in public speaking in my previous school my principle gave me an opportunity to participate in 'Horlicks Speaker of the year'. It was 2 day event called Horlicks wizkids. On day 1 I participated in a speaking competition assuming it to be the SPY one. But then me and my partner were told that it was an elocution competition& only the top 10 would qualify to participate in the SPY. We were not prepared and on top of that we were told that only 1 student per school could participate,. I would really like to appreciate that guy for volunteering to step back like a gentleman &  let me set my foot on the carpet. Now thankfully I had had a debate speech in school the previous day so could manage to deliver the same speech & qualified for SPY.
I reached home really late and was totally exhausted, next day I had my SPY at 8 in the morning. So I just fell onto my bed and slept as if I had never slept before. Next day I woke up at 6 and wrote my speech titled ' I want it all' I rehearsed it twice or thrice and yeah was seated in the hall. No one from my school had reached and I would hear students from other schools cheering, hotting and acting like savages. I could  feel my heart beats getting synchronized with the thumping of the drums. And suddenly the noises went away and the anchor started using his mick. All the contestants had already spoken on the stage  (excluding me) Yes I had qualified, my name was written on the board the previous day but...
